We are on the hunt for energetic and resident-focused Continuing Care Aides (CCA’s) interested in working with our long term care home client located in Nova Scotia. As a certified CCA, you will work in collaboration with Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and other CCAs to provide residents of the home with assistance in all aspects of their personal care and activities of daily living. Travel provided or Expenses Reimbursed; housing provided; 3 month contracts, renewable.

About the Home:
Located in Central Nova Scotia, this long-term care facility is home to 60 residents. Residents are provided with around-the-clock Registered Nursing services, homecooked meals, and have access to regular on-site activities, hairdressing services, and optional outings. The home is situated on Cape Breton Island. Nestled along the Cabot Trail about 30 minutes from Antigonish and 90 minutes from New Glasgow, you’ll have optimal access for exploring many beautiful areas of the province while on assignment.
Duties Include:
- Assisting residents of varying abilities with bathing and toileting.
- Assisting with dressing.
- Assisting with serving and feeding at mealtime.
- Engaging residents in activities organized at the home.
- Providing compassionate, person-centered care.
- Contributing to the overall day-to-day operation of the home.
- Other duties as assigned and within the scope of practice of a CCA.
Required Qualifications:
- Certificate as a Continuing Care Aide/Personal Support Worker/Health Care Aide from a recognized post secondary Canadian college.
- Valid CPR-C certificate completed within the last year.
- Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sectors Portion within the last 6 months (or ability to obtain).
- Physical ability to walk long distances and remain on your feet for considerable portions of your shift.
- Fluency in English: Written and Spoken.
