The Opportunity - Full time, permanent, Continuing Education & Corporate Training Programming Coordinator – Agriculture & Environment Portfolio

The Olds College Continuing Education & Corporate Training department has an exciting opportunity available for a full-time Programming Coordinator. This position will be responsible for a portfolio that currently includes programs and courses in the areas of Agriculture & Environment. This position will play the lead role in our new Indoor Agriculture program, Smart Agriculture courses, various Corporate Training programs, dual credit programming, and our popular Agronomy Certificate.

Key Job Functions:

  • Create and build upon industry connections to increase opportunities and customize training;
  • Conduct needs assessments for potential new programs and services;
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of courses by working with various college stakeholders;
  • Facilitate the hiring of contract instructors and Subject Matter Experts;
  • Evaluate data to identify potential for new and expanded programming;
  • Develop budgets for course development and delivery;
  • Communicate with potential students to facilitate recruitment and course selection;
  • Work with the Continuing Education & Corporate Training marketing staff to promote program offerings in relevant publications, websites, and other venues;
  • Attend trade shows and other special events to promote Olds College Continuing Education & Corporate Training offerings and services to potential students and industry contacts.

Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • A post-secondary education in agriculture, environment, business, curriculum development, education or a related discipline is required along with experience and/or formal education in Agriculture, Environment, or Business.
  • Previous experience in Continuing Education, online learning, and/or curriculum development is a definite asset.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts and instructors to develop and delivery programming
  • Experience creating and managing budgets, creating reports, and tracking financials is key
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with web-based tools and software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to solve complex problems that demonstrate innovative thinking, flexibility, collaboration, and a student-centric approach
  • Highly organized with a great attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
