About this opportunity:
The Continuous Improvement Advisor is responsible for leading and guiding Continuous Improvement best practices across Conventional Operations. This position will train and coach our employees to a new way of thinking in the methodologies of Continuous Improvement while collaborating with team members on managing improvement portfolios and building capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven successful history in using leadership, influence, operations experience, and communication abilities to deliver on business initiatives.
What you’ll do:
  • Owning CI methodology, designing and implementing CI related competency framework.
  • Using strong interpersonal skills to communicate, influence, and collaborate with people and teams in identifying, prioritizing, and implementing improvement opportunities.
  • Establishing rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders; careful listening, building trust, overcoming barriers, and coaching.
  • Facilitating CI training and working sessions, formally and informally, to solve problems and challenge Project Leads and Teams to determine sustainable methods to embed solutions.
  • Practicing the use of CI tools such as process mapping, fishbone, root cause analysis; train, coach and enhance capability across stakeholders as required.
  • Leading and delivering CI project(s) as required.
Who you are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, or economics required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years working in the oil and gas industry or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience working with and coordinating multiple partners and the ability to establish trust and rapport with people working remotely.
  • Ability to have teams define root cause solutions w/sustainable designs.
  • Demonstrates comfortable ability to work with range of corporate leadership levels as well as relate to front line concerns.
  • Actively seeks out ways to reach alignment on common corporate and asset level needs, to help achieve business goals on operational excellence.
  • Strong results-driven orientation and ability to improve processes for higher business performance.
  • High attention to detail and an ability to keep information organized.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Exceptional skills in effectively managing competing priorities.
  • Excellent business writing and oral communication skills coupled with the ability to communicate across business functions in an effective and professional manner.
  • Highly analytical and results driven.
The following experience/certification will be considered an asset:
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • CI coaching experience.
  • Project management certification.
  • Experience leading improvement programs and delivery of business values through application of Lean Six Sigma methodology or equivalent.
  • Experience in facilitating, coaching, and teaching Lean Six Sigma or core Continuous Improvement subjects in the front-line environment with technicians, supervisors, engineers as well as ability to influence/leading/handling CI discussion with management and leadership.
