Group Savings and Retirement / Contract Management Specialist / Permanent / Teleworking

Our team is looking for a Contract Management Specialist in the Group Savings and Retirement Contract Management team level to manage and process requests related to the implementation of new groups as well as modifications to existing contracts.

The key responsibilities for this role will be to:

  • Plan Setups (RRSP/DPSP/DCPP/TFSA etc).  Analyze and validate documentation provided by Implementation team in order to set up new plans in the recordkeeping system; perform accompanying validation checks to ensure high standard of quality and processing within required service standards
  • Analyze plan texts from other carriers and other related documents for new plan registrations (T2214, board resolutions)
  • Analyze contract change requests for existing clients and perform required validations in order to process the necessary modifications in the record keeping systems.  (Taking into account the different plans, applicable legislation and deadlines)
  • Analyze and process requests relating to changes in fund offerings, pricing, commission payments, termination of contracts and plan windups for existing clients
  • Draft and issue policy contracts, commission agreements and plan summaries/booklets for participants
  • Contact regulatory authorities (CRA, FSCO), to submit new plans for registration and ensure that they have been registered in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Issue related contract documents to plan sponsors and follow up for required signatures
  • Keep up to date with current legislation requirements for various retirement and savings plans and ensure to apply accordingly for specific provinces
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders– Implementation, Sales, Client Relationships and Administration teams across Canada, to ensure client expectations are met
  • Investigate and problem solve with internal colleagues for client/member specific related inquiries
  • Participate in various specific mandates or special projects (ex. quarterly external audit)
  • Provide training and support for colleagues and new hires
  • Make updates to “How-To’s” and ongoing training documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement within the team and the business line (DMS, workshops, Kaizen, etc.).

  • You have knowledge of group retirement plans, a major asset (3-5 years preferred)
  • You have completed a degree in business, commerce, or any related field
  • You are well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • You are detail-oriented and analytical
  • You are an effective communicator – both written and verbal
  • You have a problem solving and continuous improvement mindset
  • You have a good knowledge of the Office suite
