Job description

Adecco is currently hiring several temporary full-time experienced Contract QA Specialists to work for our client, a leader in the oil and gas industry, in Calgary, AB. In this role you will work collaboratively within the project team and business units to execute and validate test cases based upon system requirements.

  • Location: Calgary, AB

  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 5:00pm

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 12-month Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test plan that ensures that the implemented solution meets the business outcomes and requirements;

  • Develop test cases and test scripts as per the test plan

  • Work with the business analyst to review user requirements documents to ensure that requirements are testable

  • Validate that user expectations are achieved during the testing process

  • Report on deficiencies and testing progress.

  • Partner with the Solution Designer to ensure that the solution design meets the business requirements and outcomes and to determine test methods for validating the technical implementation

  • Accountable for the execution of the test plan

  • Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts

  • Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results

  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members

  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management

  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements

  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes

  • Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL /Oracle/SAP HANA environment including validating stored procs, jobs and triggers.

  • Create an estimate for testing activities

  • Contributing to and reviewing project documentation

  • Accountable for the management of ALM (Application Lifecycle Management, formerly HPQC) for the project:

  • Create and setup project

  • Manage user

  • Train users

  • Ensure tool is being used appropriately

  • Create reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

  • Minimum 5 years of Technical Testing experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related area of study

  • Experience developing test strategy, plans, test cases and test scripts
