About Us:
We are seeking a dedicated Contractor Site Manager to join our team at Canadian Forces Station (CFS) Alert. As the official point of contact for Nasittuq on site, you will lead operations and facilities management to meet the requirements of our Statement of Work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer all Nasittuq operations and facilities support services at CFS Alert according to the Statement of Work.
  • Maintain and submit operational plans and reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Liaise with the Commanding Officer at CFS Alert to address administrative, safety, and SOW matters.
  • Communicate regularly with Site Supervisors and direct reports to ensure smooth operations and maintenance.
  • Ensure all work meets applicable codes, standards, regulations, and legislation.
  • Initiate emergency procedures as outlined in the Emergency Response Plan and directed by the Station Base Commander.
  • Participate in Workplace Health and Safety Committee meetings and training scenarios.
  • Collaborate in inspections, reviews, and audits conducted by DND agencies.
  • Address staff concerns and escalate unresolved issues to the Contractor Program Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by higher authority.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, or equivalent OR 10 years' experience in facilities management or managerial capacity in similar operations.
  • Desired: Eligibility for Professional Engineer (Ontario) or Certified Engineering Technologist (Ontario) designation. P. Eng. or CET designation considered an asset. BOMA or IFMA designation also considered an asset.
  • 5+ years' experience in management of similar operations (multi-disciplinary), with 10+ years overall work experience.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain Canadian Level II Secret Security Clearance and possess a valid Canadian passport.

Working Conditions/Travel:
Work in a harsh arctic climate at a remote location. Must be medically, physically, and psychologically cleared annually. Regular rotational travel to Alert, NU required.

Relationships:
Internal: Collaborate closely with Contract Program Management, Administration Office, site supervisors, site staff, and Human Resources staff in Ottawa.
External: Interact with DND Personnel.
