Contractor Sales - Lumber And Building Materials

We are looking to add an outgoing and responsible person(s) for contractor and lumber sales to join our growing team, and to help build our locally operated business.

The right candidate would be a hard working individual who enjoys teamwork, provides excellent customer service, and willingness to continually develop professional skills and knowledge base, The LBM sales person(s) are responsible for providing prompt, courteous and efficient service to customers, advising them on appropriate merchandise and related LBM items.

Sales experience is required and Building Materials experience considered an asset. On the job training is available.

Job duties would include but are not limited to:

• Customer Service
• Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items.
• Inventory Control
• Process Quotes, and transactions using retail software.
• Assist customers with carrying out of large or heavy items.
• Communicate product knowledge to the customer as appropriate.
• Be familiar with current yard inventory and surplus items.
• Update yourself with practical knowledge of Building Materials and lumber products, including their uses, advantages, and disadvantages.
• Keep up to date on practical knowledge of Building Materials and lumber products, including their uses, advantages, and disadvantages.
• Work on special projects as assigned by department manager.
• Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $18.00 per hour

Experience:

• Lumber and Building material: 1 year (preferred)
• sales: 2 years (required)
