The Opportunity
Under the general direction of the Control Centre Leads, the Control Centre Operator (CCO) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Access Pipeline and facilities. This position works a schedule of 5 days on 4 days off – 12 hour per day.
This is a full time, permanent position based out of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control the pipeline receipts and deliveries
  • Manage Terminal Tank inventories
  • Monitor all operation and maintenance activities on the pipeline
  • Liaise with Producers and connected pipelines
  • Strive for efficient operation of the pipeline to minimize diluent usage and reduce power costs
  • Monitor system balances using the Leak Detection System and daily reports from the Product Accounting Liquid Management System
  • Initiate responses when over/short pipeline balances exceed expectations
  • Provide direction to field operations staff related to operations and maintenance activities
  • Provide assistance to other disciplines
  • Provide start-up and commissioning assistance when required
  • Provide gateway to initial emergency response activities
  • Play a role when the Access ERP is initiated
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
  • Trade or technical certification, diploma, or a degree in a related discipline would be an asset
Skills:
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders
  • Demonstrates leadership and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong computer skills
Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ of operations experience with preference given to liquid pipelines and control room experience.
  • Health, Safety and Environmental safety training and experience, including H2S, First Aid
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • This is a Safety Sensitive position and requires pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
