Controller

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller to join our dynamic team. As a Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, as well as providing essential support in various accounting functions.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform full cycle accounting tasks, including month-end closing procedures.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct inter-company reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads and executive leadership.
• Manage cash flow and liquidity, including monitoring banking activities and optimizing cash balances to meet operational needs.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare all necessary documentation for annual audits and reviews.
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with external parties such as lawyers and banks as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation required.
• Experience in a retail environment and/or a production environment is considered an asset.
• Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in financial analysis tools and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for utilizing advanced functions for data analysis.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to innovate, influence, and problem solve.
