Description
We are searching for a Controls/Industrial Robotics Programmer to join our growing agtech startup in Salmon Arm, BC. Join a team at the forefront of technological innovation in mushroom harvesting as we build robots to address critical labour shortages and build a more sustainable food future.
What you will work on. As a Controls/ Industrial Robotics Programmer you will get to:
  • Develop, implement, and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial automation systems
  • Utilize expertise in multi-axis motion control programming for industrial servo drives including servo motor tuning and motion path optimization
  • Program and optimize robotic arms, including gantry and SCARA configurations
  • Ensure seamless integration of robotic systems into overall industrial processes
  • Understand electrical control cabinet Schematics containing PLCs, servo drives, power supplies and support others in the design and optimization of them
  • Configure and integrate various industrial sensors, including inductive and optical proximity sensors, rotary encoders, and IO-Link devices
  • Lead the commissioning of industrial control systems, ensuring functionality and efficiency
  • Identify and resolve issues through effective troubleshooting techniques
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to optimize system performance

Who you are. Some combination of following skills, abilities, experience, and attributes will help you thrive in this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Programming experience in industrial automation
  • Strong PLC programming skills (experience with B&R brand PLCs and Structured Text programming language is a bonus)
  • Proficient in motion control programming for industrial servo drives
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial robotic arm programming (6-axis, SCARA)
  • Experience with electrical control cabinets and industrial sensors
  • Ability to troubleshoot and commission industrial control systems
  • Understanding of electrical and pneumatic circuits, valves, actuators
  • Familiarity of mechanicals systems, including linkages, linear drives, valves, actuators, and a basic understanding of kinematics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
