Role Summary

This position is for Massiv Die-Form, a division of Cosma International.

Massiv Die-Form, a division of Magna International, designs and builds medium to large cast automotive and hot stamping dies. Key Responsibilities

⦁    Ensure customer production requirements are met through coordination of schedules, manpower planning, troubleshooting.
⦁    Participate in soft tool and die development as required.
⦁    Liaison with other Departments regarding product development, continuous improvement projects, new jobs and prioritizing/delegating where required.
⦁    Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process and quality system.
⦁    Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
⦁    Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
⦁    Verify the implementation of solutions.
⦁    Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
⦁    Ensure employee and Leadhand development, teamwork, quality work environment through regular meetings/feedback, training, appraisals and maintenance of open communication.
⦁    Follow up, respond, resolve or refer employees to appropriate personnel for concern resolution/ inquiries.
⦁    Ensure consistent application of plant rules, policies and procedures, incl. progressive discipline.
⦁    Prepare reports, maintain records, communicate all required information to appropriate parties as required or applicable (Reports include Time Sheets, Daily Attendance Sheets, Overtime Records, Monthly Employee History, Tryout Reports & Supervisor Audits).
⦁    Responsible for applicable QEMS policies, procedures and work instructions.
⦁    Required to train employees on policies, procedures & job specific work instructions applicable to work area according to QEMS.
⦁    Responsible to carry out duties for Health, Safety, and Environment in accordance with the HS&E Agreement for Supervisor/Leadhand - Addendum
⦁    Support 5S & continuous improvement initiatives. 
⦁    Perform any other reasonable duties as required or assigned.
 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

⦁    Recognized Certificate of Qualification as Tool & Die Maker or equivalent.
⦁    Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience as Tool & Die Maker.
⦁    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
⦁    Good working knowledge of production facility, systems, equipment and dies.
⦁    Good organizational skills and scheduling abilities.
⦁    Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
 

Additional Information

Working Conditions:

  • This position is for straight afternoon shift: Monday-Thursday 2:30PM- 12:30AM
  • Previous working experience as a Leadhand/Supervisor is preferred.
  • Tool & Die Maker (430A) Certification is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good working knowledge of production facility, equipment and dies.
  • Good Organizational Skills and Scheduling abilities.
  •  Valid driver’s license.
  • Travel will be required. 
  • Overtime may be required at times.

*Please note: The successful candidate will be trained on day shift for 6 months and then will transfer to afternoon shift.**
