The YFNED Nutrition team is seeking a collaborative, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our rural nutrition program in Ross River, Yukon. This position is responsible for assisting the Cook with the delivery of the school-based food service program. Duties include assisting with food preparation, serving and cleanup of food and beverage areas, assisting the team in the timely delivery of meals and following all standards for proper food preparation, handling and sanitization. Assisting the Cook with occasional community events will also be required
Food Safe Level 1 or the willingness to obtain within three months of hire. Knowledge of the community and experience providing help and support in the kitchen are required. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and food preparation, baking or a related culinary area. Strong collaboration and communication skills will be key to success in this role. Experience preparing traditional foods such as wild game and hand sourced berries is considered an asset
