OLG Dartmouth is looking to hire a professional cook, experienced working with seniors and their dietary needs to provide lunch service Monday-Friday for 4-6 residents.

Work Setting: Rectory (Residence) in a Catholic Church. Non-commercial kitchen.

Duties:

• Create a meal plan for four to six residents.
• Order and receive food orders and kitchen supplies (ability to drive and shop preferred, mileage covered).
• Preparing and cooking a hot lunch and desert every weekday and easy to prepare foods throughout the week for off-hours.
• Setting the table, serving lunch, clearing lunch, cleaning the kitchen, and taking out garbage
• Preparing food for parish events as required
• Sundry duties as required

Experience and Professional Qualities:

• Experience working with seniors as a cook or dietary aide.
• Knowledge of food handling, dietary, and nutritional best practices. (Certification or education an asset).
• Ability to meet physical requirements of position.
• Reliability, dependability, confidentiality, and tact.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong ability to exercise judgment.
• Professionalism and presentability.
• Driver's license and access to a vehicle is an asset. Reliable transportation to and from work is required.
• A practicing Roman Catholic is preferred but not required, comfort working in a Catholic setting is required.
• Need to be able to pass a criminal background check and vulnerable sector check as a pre-condition of employment.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Salary: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
