THE BRANCH:
Through BC Registries and Online Services, we provide trusted registry services including the Corporate Registry, Personal Property Registry, Manufactured Home Registry and BC Online. We also have an important mandate to deliver secure and privacy-enhancing identity services for citizens and businesses, through the Provincial Identity and Information Management Program, to support access to digital government services and information.
THE ROLE:
The Application Developer Co-op Student will design, develop, test, enhance and maintain critical applications of significant complexity (multiple platforms, environments and technologies requiring integration of new and legacy systems) that will support the strategic direction of BC Registry Services and the needs of its clients.
Job Requirements:
  • Co-op- registered in a recognized co-op program studying in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Experience in structured and object-oriented programming in a complex rules-based environment using a broad number of application development tools, including experience in frontend and backend development.
  • Experience using a variety of modern development languages and technologies.
  • Experience with Python and/or Vue.js.

Preference may be give to applicants with:
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum ceremonies

There are six (6) positions available
This is a temporary opportunity until 12/31/2024. (8-month position)
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
