Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health and Hygiene, the Coordinator, Occupational Health Nurse (Known at Teck as the Coordinator, Occupational Health) will support Teck Coal's Occupational Health Program and medical assessment clinic operations, improvement, and consistency. This position is a temporary position for six months with the possibility of an extension working at Teck Coal.

This role requires a positive and hard-working individual who is self-motivated and can prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.

Responsibilities:
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Provide examination, education, and counselling in support of the Occupational Health Program
  • Perform health and hygiene awareness education pertaining to protection to Occupational Health hazards
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate the transfer of information with outside medical service providers
  • Produce, maintain, and distribute statistical data for administrative, educational, and research purposes
  • Maintain and calibrate medical equipment based on the needs of the Occupational Health Program
  • Collaborate with site-based personnel, occupational hygienists, and external service providers to progress Teck Coal's Occupational Health Program
  • Be an active member of the Teck Corporate and Teck Coal Health and Hygiene Committees

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma, or related degree
  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience in Occupational Health or Public Health Nursing
  • Knowledge in areas of Occupational Health such as health assessments, health promotion and wellness, and industrial hygiene; experience in occupational or medical health and hygiene data management
  • Strong digital literacy and experience with Cority and Microsoft Office Suite®, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel

Salary: $81,498
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
