Term of App't: Temporary, Full Time (35 hours per week)

Start date: Immediately

Reporting to: Director of Student Services

Salary:


Classification 12, $28.41 - $29.29 per hour, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees also receive an additional $0.56/hr. in lieu of benefits, as well as having 6% vacation pay paid out with each pay.


Description:


The Copyright Assistant is responsible for keeping current information related to copyright laws, processes and procedures, and responds to copyright related inquires. Seeks copyright permissions and maintains records for these permissions. Provides library services assistant duties including use of the library management system.

Please Note - This position is to cover for the current incumbent until March 31, 2024 or until return of incumbent, with the possibility of an extension.


Qualifications:


Must hold a Library and Information Technology Diploma, a Paralegal certificate may be considered, or a combination of the two; and 2 - 3 years of experience with copyright laws and practices is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail, ability to work independently as well as in a team, and familiarity with Microsoft Access or comparable databases, and MS Outlook. Successful candidate must be very well organized. Must be able to present copyright guidelines to staff and students through presentation and written communication.
