Corporate Events Planner

Pay Range $33.24 to $34.98 plus Overtime and bonuses.

As a member of Communications and Community Relations, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating, planning, and delivering associate and community engagement events and connections throughout the year. From meeting with suppliers, to budget planning, and critical path development, the ability to interact with diverse groups, both within the plant and the community, is essential. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are needed to create copy for multiple channels including print, web and social.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Communications team, outside vendors and partners, and other internal departments to assist with the development and delivery of signature events (corporate and community related) that meet objectives and exceed expectations.
  • Collaborate and build sustainable connections and partnerships with community partners.
  • Create, implement, and develop associate engagement opportunities for volunteer activities.
  • Write internal communication pieces for a variety of channels (web, print, social).
  • Develop associate engagement opportunities, manage budgets and determine critical paths.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma or Certificate in Event Management, Marketing/Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility, or equivalent experience.
  • One year of relevant experience supporting large scale Corp event planning.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, proofreading skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

  • Proven ability to plan and organize Corporate Events.
  • Experience working with and managing volunteers.
  • Experience working with vendors while adhering to a budget, quotes, and timelines.

Additional Information:

HCM provides a competitive salary structure and starting wage based on previous, related experience. Additionally, HCM provides weekly, monthly, and annual attendance bonuses, equaling a potential additional $1.40 per hour; a Team Achievement Bonus paid two times per year; an industry leading Defined Contribution (DC) pension that includes company contributions and company matching; and a comprehensive benefit plan that provides choice and flexibility with the cost subsidized by company contributions. HCM also provides shift premiums paid at 5% for afternoon and 10% for the overnight shift.
