Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a full-time Junior and Senior High Cosmetology and Art Teacher at Lamont High. Please include all teachable subject areas and courses in your cover letter/resume.

Lamont High serves approximately 345 students in grades 7 to 12, with 22 teaching staff

and 13 support staff. The school is located in Lamont, AB, approximately 60 kilometres

northeast of Sherwood Park, AB.

Open to internal and external applicants, priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract and meet the minimum requirements of the position

Candidates should have training as either an apprentice or journeyman hairstylist.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education degree

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Effective organization and classroom management skills

Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

Excellent verbal and written skills

Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
