Crating & Packaging Associate

Job Summary:

Reporting into the Shop Managers, the Crating & Packaging Associate is responsible for the daily activities on the shop floor. Successful candidates will rotate through various labourer positions and support the team with order fulfillment, shop cleanliness and maintenance with a heavy focus on crating and packaging orders in preparation for shipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely handle and manage all equipment for crating and packaging activities.
• Safely handle products, including manual lifting, stacking, loading, and unloading.
• Adhere to workplace health and safety policies (WHMIS, OH&S, WCB, and Company procedures).
• Read and interpret work orders for custom crating and packaging requirements.
• Skillfully crate and pack final products for shipping, ensuring the safety and integrity of orders.
• Provide support to the team in order fulfillment, maintaining shop cleanliness, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Any additional tasks deemed necessary by the employer.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 1-2 years of shop experience, with a focus on custom crating and packaging, preferred.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting of 50 lbs without assistance (up to approximately 50+ pounds).
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to various positions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skill
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to perform any tasks deemed necessary by the employer
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to reliability and punctuality
