CRISIS INTERVENTION WORKER

JOB TYPE: Relief (Call in weekdays, Nights and Weekends) 1 permanent relief and 1 temporary relief 12-18 months with potential for extension.

DUTIES: To provide front-line shelter services to women and children who are experiencing abuse.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Thorough knowledge of existing community services and resources as relate to Intimate Partner Violence. This combination of knowledge and skills would be acquired through post secondary education and/ or experience in Crisis Intervention. Preference will be given to persons with a degree in social sciences and social work. Emergency First Aid, Non Violent Crisis Intervention training and bilingualism would be considered assets.

Contract length: 12 months

Salary: $30.15 per hour
