Rogers is actively seeking applications to its Critical Infrastructure Operator role based out of Calgary, AB.  Reporting to the Supervisor, Critical Operations, this is an exciting opportunity where you will be supporting different teams with ensuring the uptime of the data center facilities they manage.   You will be expected to function in a continuous operations environment, by maintaining a 7x24x365 presence, doing rounds to check, perform repairs, and maintain the operational conditions of all electrical and mechanical components in the building / data center, and responding to operational failures as they come up.
  
As a company that takes pride in delivering customer services, we have a dependency on data centers being online.   The Critical Infrastructure Operator makes certain that the switches and servers involved are supplied with power and cooling to allow them to provide the services to the customers – both internal and external.  As part of the recruitment process, successful candidates will be required to complete criminal and credit background checks.
What you will be doing:
-Operate HVAC systems, Emergency power generation, UPS systems
-Conduct daily inspections, record instrument readings, operate, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electronics and HVAC systems, including generators, lighting, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fan coil units, and cooling towers
-Perform scheduled maintenance on all equipment as per manufacturer's recommendations and legislated requirements including water treatment, filter changes, motor bearing lubrication, belt alignment and replacement
-Monitor, operate, analyze and optimize equipment control through the building automation system to facilitate efficient and effective building operation
-Make recommendations, obtain quotes for replacement versus repair on failed equipment
-Complete drywall, door hardware and plumbing fixture repair, light bulb and ceiling tile replacement, painting, and general carpentry work
-Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, orientation/training manuals, refining of preventative maintenance schedules and safety procedures
-Ability to work in shifts which will ensure 24/7 coverage of our critical centers including night shifts. Shift is onsite 4 days on, 4 days off rotating days and night. 12 hour shifts
-Gaining understanding and operational competence in power generation and refrigeration systems. Power Engineering ticket class 5 or greater is desired in the role, but not mandatory for employment.  Other trade tickets are also acceptable like electrician or refrigeration.
-Take decisions that make sure our data centers stay online and continue delivering services for our customers and our business
 
What you bring:
-High school diploma, with interests in HVAC, power generation and building automation / operation
-Understanding about the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code, WHMIS legislation, Building Codes and Fire Codes
-Basic knowledge of Direct Digital Controls and Building Automation Systems
-Proficient in the use of smartphones, computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Office), preventative maintenance databases and electronic tenant request systems
-Work in a team environment as well as independently
-Able to work efficiently in critical system environments, 7x24x365
-Excellent communication, both written and verbal
-Strong organizational expertise with the ability to manage multiple projects
-Be independent in taking critical decisions
