POSITION: Crop Retail Sales Manager LOCATION: Hybrid – Hensall
Hensall Co-op is seeking a dynamic individual to become an integral member of our team! This position requires a combination of agricultural expertise, sales leadership, and customer service skills to ensure the success of both the co-op and its customers. This position is full-time, working out of the Hensall location with up to 75% of the time will be spent on-the-road.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- As Crop Retail Sales Manager at Hensall Co-op, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Crop Retail Sales team as well as to understand customers’ needs in order to provide them with the necessary products and support to optimize their crop yields and overall agricultural success.
- Lead, train, mentor and support a team of sales representatives, ensuring they meet sales targets and customer service standards.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share and revenue for crop-related products or services as well as value-added food grade targets.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key accounts and key growers in the agricultural community.
- Educate sales team and customers on the latest agronomic practices and product offerings.
- Develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns to create awareness and demand for crop-related products and services.
- Assist with inventory needs forecasts by location that can roll up to hub management as well as overall consolidated.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to crop inputs and agricultural products.
- Develop and manage budgets for the sales department.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in agricultural sales and leadership roles (minimum 5 years)
- Knowledge of crop protection products, fertilizers, seeds, and agronomy
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship skills
- Team leadership and management experience
- Knowledge of local agricultural practices and conditions
- Understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in using sales and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
