We are currently recruiting a Culture & Recreation Coordinator who will work as part of a team dedicated to the treatment and success of youth in our care. Working with Elders and Knowledge keepers, the Culture & Recreation Coordinator will plan cultural activities, ceremonies, and teachings designed to aid youth in their personal and cultural growth. In addition, the incumbent is also responsible for planning and supervising recreational activities and outings for our clients as well as maintaining an inventory of equipment and seeing to repairs as required.
Minimal Requirements:
· Grade 12 or equivalent AND three (3) years direct work experience in cultural/recreational programming OR a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Recreation, Indian/Native Studies, or Social Work AND one (1) year direct work experience in cultural programming
· Ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
· Knowledge of First Nations culture.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends.
