Job description

This position will focus on Customer Accounting processes within our accounts receivable sub-ledger.

 

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Claiming, depositing and applying incoming premium and service fee payments from customers and policyholders.
  • Working with the Treasury department to invoke book transfers when required.
  • Logging, monitoring, aging and following up on payments that can’t immediately be identified.
  • Exhausting all manner of research using policy admin. and accounting systems to enable payment application.
  • When all research has been exhausted, requesting and following up with the Customer Service department on information that must be obtained from the policyholder or broker.
  • Staying current with the daily incoming payments and reviewing unapplied balances reports.
  • Learning and becoming an expert on SAP AR / CMS and its capabilities.
  • Learning and understanding the flows, interaction and presentation of payments between Compass and SAP.

 

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Undergraduate accounting or finance degree.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Finance, Business or Equivalent
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Well organized and strong time management.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP (preferred).
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers as well as different levels of management
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work efficiently, multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines during peak workload periods
  • Ability to process a high volume of work with minimal errors within designated turnaround times
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player
