Customer Connection Expeditor

Division: Projects and Construction
Location: Grande Prairie, AB
Salary: $3,448.80 - $4,127.20 Bi-Weekly
Relocation: No relocation assistance will be provided for this position

What you get to do:

  • Interfacing with customers (both internal & external) to understand their needs and inservice requirements on projects.
  • Interacting with customers on project scopes, costs, schedules and, proposals.
  • Applying project designs for new O/H and U/G facilities for both new extensions as well as system improvement projects including relocations and removals of existing facilities using project templates, design templates, or specialized design.
  • Issuing accepted projects for Execution.
  • Ensures the coordination of activities to meet customer expectations, project requirements and timely service delivery for customers.
  • Receives & processes multiple customer project requests.
  • Acts as the customer liaison and consultant throughout the Scoping Phase of the Customer Connection Project Process. This includes communication with the customer on a regular basis.
  • Identifies ways to meet and exceed customer experience expectations, improve service delivery and reduce costs.
  • Applies pricing, schedules, and commercial terms for customer proposals.
  • Ensuring tariffs and T&C’s are properly applied.
  • Follows-up with customer on proposal acceptance or cancellation.
  • Requesting support from other teams as required and works collaboratively across departments.
  • Manages external notifications and consents.
  • Manages release packages of completed & outstanding permitting, consents, and notifications to execution phase.
  • Applies standardized designs to mapping software, and queries available systems to identify requirements of:
    • constraints to the design,
    • other permitting,
    • land rights, o specialized design,
    • system planning,
    • brushing,
    • environmental
  • Prepares construction drawing.
  • Compiles and submits material lists.
  • Generating commercial terms, investment and proposal letters.
  • Generating site ID.
  • Maintaining Health & Safety guidelines by completion of tailboards and participation in safety meetings & completing safety accountabilities.
  • Interface with financial and project management systems as required.
  • Develops and maintains status reports to track projects, trends and metrics.
  • Pro-actively identifies potential customer/service delivery risks and expeditiously works with departments to expeditiously address/resolve and escalates where appropriate.
  • Work within GIS/Gtechnology, AutoCAD, and Oracle.
  • Assist with Post-Completion technical and financial reviews where necessary.
  • Looks for best practices and process improvements to improve productivity, innovation and efficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Diploma or related Business Diploma.
  • Completion of a post-secondary technical/business diploma in a related discipline from a recognized Canadian Institute of Technology will be preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or years of experience may be considered
  • 3 – 5 years of electricity industry and customer service experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in customer service, proven ability in conflict management, issue resolution and negotiations.
  • Excellent communication skills – Verbal and Written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of basic electrical concepts.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, planning and organizing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a positive team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize and manage multiple time sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to work with all customers and diverse community groups to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Knowledge of company and Canadian electrical standards would be an asset. Including but not limited to metering standards, construction standards, CSA Standards, Canadian and Alberta Electric Utility Codes, Customer Guide to New Extension and Terms and Conditions.
  • This position may require some travel.
  • This position may require some work outdoors.
