SUMMARY 

Don’t miss an exciting opportunity to be part of an advanced information command and control centre, working alongside a highly dedicated security team!

 

The Cyber Security Incident Response Lead, reporting to the SOC Manager, is responsible to lead, grow and refine the Incident Response and threat practices. He is also responsible for providing quick analysis and responding to detected cyberthreats. 

 

The Cyber ​​Security Operation Centre is responsible for use case creation, operating monitoring solutions and responding to cybersecurity  events for all Cogeco activities in Canada and the United States.


 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and coordinate all Cyber Security Incidents with the support from the operations teams

  • Focal point on Security Incidents at the corporate level

  • Provide technical leadership and conduct Incident Response engagements and acts as the senior subject matter expert during Security Incidents

  • Lead the scribing activities in time of incidents

  • Lead the inputs provided to incident commanders and assist them in taking timely decisions

  • Liaise with all stakeholders for efficient communication 

  • Provide operational oversight and ensure consistency in the tracking and remediation of incidents

  • Work closely with the extended teams, in IT and security, to assess the severity of an incident, determine appropriate mitigation recommendations to reduce the overall security risk within the organization

  • Constantly re-evaluate the severity of alerts; assess potential impacts

  • Handle incidents from the triage until resolution

  • Document post-incident reports

  • Communicate status updates to SOC Manager and Management team

  • Provide on-call and out of hours support 

  • When not responding to breaches, help team with  threat intelligence, develop Incident Response plans, facilitate tabletop and purple team exercises as well as provide other strategic security services related to Incident Response.


 

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Information Security or relevant security up-to-date certificates and/or equivalent work experience

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of IT Security concepts, including security operations, processes and investigations

  • Strong foundation in Cyber Security policy, and best practices

  • Certified Incident Handler

  • 10 years in IT or Cyber Security position

SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • Experience with writing cohesive reports for a technical and non-technical audience

  • Hands-on experience with hardware/software tools used in Incident Response

  • Capable of working independently as well as providing leadership to extended remote teams

  • Strong ability to communicate to all levels of the organization from the technical teams to the management teams

  • Flexible and self-motivator, able to find creative solutions to challenges

  • Ability to manage several competing priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent communication skills in English and French, written and spoken

  • Result-oriented and team player
