Cycle counter job summary
The Cycle counter works closely with the Order Desk and Production Planning. He/she records the inventory to ensure its accuracy and to keep it up to date. He/she may be called upon to perform warehouse clerk duties when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Account for and maintain inventory accuracy (data entry, item identification, counting);
- Update inventory daily;
- Monitor replenishment against established min-max to achieve requested inventory accuracy ratios;
- Perform inventory counts every 2 weeks;
- Locate misplaced items;
- Investigate and correct observed inventory discrepancies;
- Report inventory discrepancies and losses to distribution center supervisor;
- Prepare reports using Excel (advanced level) (e.g. inventory availability);
- Participate in product location management;
- Identify and propose corrective measures to improve inventory reliability;
Skills and aptitudes :
- Logistics operations management training or equivalent experience;
- Experience in inventory management in a manufacturing environment;
- Relevant experience with a computerized inventory management system;
- Knowledge of Excel (advanced level essential);
- Strong knowledge of SAP (asset)
- Excellent mathematical skills;
- Ability to work in other distribution center positions;
- Forklift operator certificate (or interested in training);
- Must be organized, motivated, positive, reliable and detail-oriented;
- Advanced bilingualism (essential);
