Daycare Manager

With the opening of a year-round childcare facility, RED Mountain Resort has an exciting opportunity for a Daycare Manager to join the Management team. This is a full-time, year-round position. The Daycare Manager will be responsible for the daily operations and management of the daycare facility and staff. This includes providing childcare, scheduling, hiring and training staff, managing and creating budgets, developing programming, creating policies and procedures and providing a safe, fun, educational, professional and caring environment for children aged 18 months to 5 years. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Early Childhood Educator to hone their skills in the tourism industry.

MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES

Program Management

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with the RED daycare philosophy and standards.
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety protocols and educational guidelines.
• Create a positive and inclusive environment for employees, families and children.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with parent and families.

Staff Relations and Supervision

• Provide effective supervision for all employees working in the facility.
• Recruitment and on-boarding of new employees, ensuring the appropriate training is provided.
• Create schedules and approve hours for bi-weekly payroll in ADP system.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive workplace focused on employee development and continuous improvement.

Administrative

• Oversee daily operations including scheduling, attendance tracking and record keeping.
• Collaborate with Senior Management to prepare annual budget, review pricing, and track budget to revenue on a regular basis.
• Manage all subsidy and grant applications on behalf of the organization.
• Responsible for accurate reconciliation of all daily cash.
• Preparing tax receipts for customers.

Child Care

• Provide and oversee childcare to all the children in the facility.

EDUCATION

• Grade 12 Diploma.
• Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification.

EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years supervisory experience in a childcare facility.
• Experience working in a daycare setting and developing programming.
• Strong understanding of early childhood education curriculum.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• Must be able to pick up children up to 50 pounds and manually assist them as required.
• Must obtain a successful criminal record check.
