Deckhand/Cook

About us

Our objective is to swiftly and safely finish dismantling existing structures and get ready for the construction of new ones. Make use of power tools and heavy machinery safely building docks and bulkheads from the ground up and finishing them on schedule. Cut materials to required sizes for installation and various other duties related to marine development on Vancouver Island's east and west sides. We are based out of Gold River.

Duties
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of the vessel, including deck and engine room duties
- Handle lines and assist with docking and undocking procedures
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting, and general upkeep of the vessel
- Heavy lifting, frequent use of tools, rigging, heavy industrial marine construction environment.

Experience
- Previous experience as a deckhand or in a similar role preferred
- Mechanical knowledge and ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with rigging and handling lines
- Prepares and cooks all meals for vessel crew members during the shift cycle

-Maintains cleanliness of the galley, galley equipment and other areas of the vessel and related equipment

Deckhand Requirements:

• Physical fitness and strength.
• Knowledge of maritime safety.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Willingness to work in harsh climates.
• Certification may be required, but generally, on-the-job training takes place
• Reliable transportation/own car.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
