Job Summary:
As a member of the Décor Operations Staff, your primary responsibility is to assist in the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of décor products for various events. This role involves working collaboratively with the operations team, following safety protocols, and ensuring a smooth and efficient execution of tent-related tasks. The position is based in the warehouse where you will be prepping, cleaning and pulling items for upcoming events, as well as onsite. On site, you will be the main crew involved in the setup and organization of the décor products as well as the tear down including the loading, unloading and transport of products and other items. In this position you must be flexible with the scope of the duties involved, as certain divisions of Glow often come together at different times of the year for larger projects. Responsibilities:
You are tasked with pulling equipment in the warehouse for upcoming events
You will ensure drapery, attractive table settings, consistency and decor placement are as ordered
Installing Halloween decor for the Halloween Temp Stores
working on ladders with basic instillation tools
Arranging tables, chairs, linens, and other decor items on site
Installing holiday setups and arrangements for events, malls, and Glow Gardens events
Be a part of the early morning set up and/or late-night removal and processing of equipment
Processing equipment after events, including the cleaning, packing and evaluation of equipment quality and damages
Décor Setup and Breakdown:
· Assist in the installation and removal of décor products based on event requirements.
· Follow guidelines and safety procedures to ensure the proper and secure setup of décor events.
Equipment Handling:
· Safely handle and transport tent components, including frames, fabric, stakes, and other related items.
· Conduct routine checks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
· Use a mechanical spike driver to safely spike tents in place, while keeping in mind utility lines below the surface, as communicated by the tent coordinator with specific knowledge regarding spiking
Team Collaboration:
· Work as part of a team to efficiently complete tent-related tasks.
· Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address challenges and ensure smooth operations.
Site Preparation:
· Participate in site preparation activities, including clearing and leveling the ground as needed.
· Assist in marking tent locations based on event plans.
· Installing flooring if requested for larger tent events
Inventory Management:
· Keep track of inventory and report any shortages or damages to the Tent Operations Coordinator.
· Assist in organizing and maintaining the storage area for tent equipment.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
· Ensure cleanliness of tents and equipment during setup and breakdown.
· Report any damages or issues with equipment for prompt maintenance.
Guest Interaction:
· Provide assistance and information to event attendees regarding tent locations and setups.
· Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor when interacting with guests.
Health and Safety Compliance:
· Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
· Use personal protective equipment as required during tent setup and breakdown.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in event setup, manual labor, or a related field is advantageous.
· Physical fitness and ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 65 lbs.
· You must have a full driver’s licence and the willingness to drive our company vehicles
· Team player with good communication skills.
· Physically capable of working long days, both indoor and outdoors
· Ability to stand for extended periods and perform moderate physical activities.
· Basic knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to undergo safety training.
· Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and extended hours as needed for event schedules
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
