Job Description:
As a Delivery Associate/Driver at Canada Produce, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of our products to various restaurants and institutions within the Greater Toronto Area. You'll work collaboratively with our sales team, warehouse personnel, and engage in a client-facing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre/post-trip truck inspections for safe vehicle handling.
- Safely transport products to and from specified locations in a predetermined sequence.
- Verify order accuracy before delivery, including product specifications and quantity.
- Load and unload products from box trucks.
- Complete required paperwork, such as daily driver logs and receipts.
- Verify and retrieve carton returns, product returns, and other items.
- Interact with customers, sales team, and warehouse personnel, addressing concerns promptly.
- Operate the vehicle defensively to prevent accidents.
- Comply with all safety rules, environmental, health, and safety policies and regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Valid G Class Driver’s License.
- Clean CVOR history and/or Driver’s Abstract.
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating a commercial vehicle (truck).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to complete routes safely in all weather conditions.
- Knowledge and experience operating a truck in the downtown Toronto core considered an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements, such as reference and background checks.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull weights of sixty pounds or more.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and shifting route schedules.
- Adherence to all internal policies, federal, and provincial legislative requirements.
