Design Consultant

Hawthorn Interiors is looking for a Design Consultant to assist our clients with interior selections for new homes and renovations.

Our core business is flooring and tile sales and installation with a focus on new single family residential construction. New construction interior selections involve coordinating various finishes provided by other trades (such as cabinets, countertops, paint/stain, etc.) with our selection of flooring and tile to create a comprehensive and cohesive design scheme that fulfills the vision of the client. Other clients will include individual retail clients replacing existing flooring and tile as well as professional renovators contracting on behalf of their clients.

Responsibilities include meeting with clients in our show room to select flooring and tile, recording selections with clarity and detail, preparing quotations in our management system for client approval, generating material purchase orders and installation work orders, submitting necessary information to home builders or renovators based their specific requirements, and corresponding with the client and builder/contractor as necessary until final installation has been completed.

Various other activities will include participation in product knowledge sessions with suppliers, maintaining the show room in a neat and orderly manner, interacting with other functions of our business to facilitate successful outcomes in all processes, and meeting with builder or renovator stakeholders to create or build relationships.

The ideal candidate will have an interest and experience in customer facing interior design work, knowledge of flooring and tile products and appropriate uses, computer literacy, the ability to work effectively with other team members to problem solve, strong work ethic combined with personal integrity, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Compensation is composed of a base salary of $4500 per month and commission combination.
