About this team

The Bag Designer role sits within Accessories Design. Our team's core values include trust, support, and courage with good intentions. It is a safe space to learn, grow and connect. Our goal is to create world class athletic & fashion accessories, including all bags, that are acknowledged as leading in innovation, design, function, fit and quality.

A day in the life:

•       Under the mentorship of and collaboration with the Senior Designer, Design Manager and Design VP, you create and develop the line for bags from inception of ideas to production.

•       You are responsible for designing and executing seasonal bag collections that reflect lululemon’s Accessories ethos.

•       You combine active product user experience, market knowledge, trend research, and collaboration between lululemon designers to create functional, innovative, quality designs.

•       Teamwork and clear communication are essential.  You work cross functionally within design, product development, raw materials development, merchandising, sourcing, color/print/graphic and design operations, ensuring your teams have the most up to date product information, gates and dates are kept ‘on-time and in-full’.

•   You have razor sharp attention to detail around both product and process towards building product which lives up to our Accessories product & design principles.

•   Prepare and effectively present design concepts that communicate seasonal direction clearly. Research, ideate, sketch and create mood, fabric, trim, materials boards etc. as appropriate to support your styles.

•       Adhere to strict timelines and calendar dates to deliver exceptional product, on-time.

Qualifications:

•       5-8 years relevant industry experience in fashion accessories with a focus on bags.

•       Strong knowledge of bag construction, patterning, textiles, trims, technology and trend through research, travel and product user experience.

•       BA, BFA or BS in (industrial) Design required (or equivalent)

•       Proficient in Adobe suite, especially Illustrator, Excel, Word, Mac platform

•       An understanding in 3D design would be an asset.
