The Design/Sales Consultant is an individual who provides expertise incorporating functionality and aesthetics to a space or product based on the evaluation of the needs of customers or clients.
Design Sales Consultants bridge the gap between client needs and creative solutions. They interpret customer requirements, develop design concepts, and drive sales of design products or services. Key tasks include client consultation, preparing the estimates, and sales negotiation.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting market research to identify potential clients and their needs
- Meeting with clients to understand their design requirements and budget
- Ensuring project is progressing in a timely manner
- Creating design proposals and presenting them to clients
- Collaborating with contractors and vendors to ensure client's vision is achieved
- Staying up to date with industry trends and design techniques
- Providing exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sales process
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and understand their needs
- Proven experience in sales and design
- Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of current design trends and ability to incorporate them into daily sales
- Ability to travel to meet with clients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to create accurate quotes and proposals
- Interior Design courses would be considered an asset
