Days/Hours of Work: Full time, Monday – Friday 8:30 – 4:30 (37.5 hours)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Associate will play a key role in the establishment and growth of a brand-new fundraising program at Beacon. This position is crucial for supporting the director in launching fundraising initiatives, executing fundraising goals, and coordinating various programs and events. The Development Associate role involves a dynamic combination of administrative, coordination, and communication tasks to drive the achievement of fundraising objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Support
  • Establish and maintain fundraising program procedures, systems, schedules and files
  • Draft and edit fundraising materials, newsletters, and press releases
  • Plan and organize fundraising events, including logistics, venue coordination, and participant communication
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Director of Development
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and handle correspondence
Donor Stewardship and Management
  • Establish and maintain fundraising program procedures, systems, schedules and files
  • Develop and implement strategies for donor recognition and stewardship
  • Assist the Director of Development in fostering relationships with donors through regular updates and communications
  • Implement, maintain and update donor databases
  • Acknowledge donations and ensure timely communication with donors
  • Research potential donors, partners, or grant opportunities
Data Analysis
  • Provide reports to the Director of Development to analyze fundraising data and identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Generate reports to measure the success of fundraising initiatives and keep the board updated.
  • Monitor and track fundraising budgets and expenditures
  • Implement, maintain and update our CRM database consisting of donor data
Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Communications and Finance to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to overall organizational success
Ad Hoc Support
  • Provide additional support and assistance as needed for various fundraising projects
  • Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 to 3 years of experience supporting fundraising teams
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 1 –2 years of experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when needed.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in changing circumstances
  • Demonstrated skills in event planning and coordination
  • Proficient in MS 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
