STATUS: PART-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. 12 MONTHS)
WAGE RATE: $26.136 – $26.686
Reporting to the Manager of Critical Care and Dialysis, the Dialysis Assistant plays a key role in the Dialysis Unit by supporting the Interdisciplinary Team to provide quality patient care.
Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:
Required
- Ability to understand written and verbal job instruction
- Secondary School Diploma
- Knowledge of and proven application of aseptic technique
- Working knowledge of computers
- Functional ability to set up, prime, clean and move dialysis machines
- Ability to lift supplies and equipment up to 25lbs and assist with patient lifts/transfers
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing computer applications (i.e. order entry)
- Ability to provide relief coverage
- Demonstrated effective communication skills
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record

Preferred
- Successful completion of a health related college program
- Previous computer application experience including order entry
- Healthy moves certification
- Successful completion of an Asepsis course
- Knowledge of dialysis therapy and equipment
