About the Opportunity
DSG Power Systems has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Diesel Technician, based in Saskatoon, SK.
Reporting to the Shop Foreman/Service Manager, you will be inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines, ensuring their optimal performance in a variety of vehicles and machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting routine maintenance, and utilizing advanced tools to keep diesel-powered systems running efficiently.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform repair and maintenance work on a spectrum of equipment, while following assigned schedules
Recommend additional work to the Service Advisor for preventative maintenance
Ensure that work is aligned to the customer's requests and service order documentation
Maintain tools and equipment, follow policies and safety procedures, and notify superiors if any equipment or tools are lost, damaged, or needed
Maintain the cleanliness of the working and rest areas, and the customer's equipment
Assist in expediting parts orders and ensure the accuracy of parts requisitions
Notify supervisors and service advisors if delays are expected
Give special attention to repeat repairs so the problem does not persist
Accurately account for all time and materials used
Keep up to date with changes in the industry and new innovations
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you must have 5+ years of related experience with Diesel engines, along with an interprovincial Red Seal certification, or equivalent experience. A Class 8 driver's license will be a strong asset.
As our ideal candidate, you are technology-savvy, with great communication skills. You are adaptable and a natural problem-solver, with quick thinking ability and a 'can-do' mindset.
