Salary The Ministry of Advanced Education, Corporate Finance Branch is seeking a dynamic professional on a permanent full-time basis to be part of a leadership team that provides strategic direction and oversight for the Financial Planning and operations of the Ministry.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Finance, this senior-level position will manage a small team of financial professionals to provide leadership for the Ministry's annual budget development process, coordinate the preparation of fiscal forecasts, manage the financial and reporting process, and provide strategic financial advice to the ministry's senior management team.
This position is also responsible for overseeing revenue and payment processing functions, financial policies and procedures, monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable, and purchase card administration.
You will have the demonstrated ability to align program policy with strategic direction. Experience with the government's annual planning and budgeting cycle, fiscal forecasting, management reporting, financial statement analysis, and the government decision-making processes is essential. To be successful, you will also have excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills coupled with demonstrated leadership and management experience.
The skills and knowledge required for this position would typically be acquired through the completion of a degree in business administration with an emphasis on accounting or financial management, and the successful completion of an accounting designation. An equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience may be considered.
