About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Director of Medical Affairs, the Director, Medical Affairs position is based in Central zone. This position will act as a senior resource providing zone-based leadership and oversight in the provision of coordinated and integrated medical staff and operational matters. 
This role will primarily focus on primary care and specialty services outside the QE2. This role will work collaboratively with the existing Central Zone Medical Affairs Team (Director, Medical Affairs focusing on the QEII and the Medical Affair Lead, recruitment and physician resource staff) and zone medical leadership and will indirectly report to the zone co-leadership model of Zone Medical Executive Director and VP of Zone Operations.  
The Director, Medical Affairs demonstrates the ability to understand the needs of Medical Affairs and leads projects and initiatives that address issues and advance the strategic priorities of the health care system. The role fosters innovation throughout the organization by contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
-Graduate degree in administration (MHA/MPA/or MBA) plus management experience in a healthcare setting required
-3-5 years of recent and relevant administrative leadership experience with progressive accountabilities; preferably within a healthcare environment
-Demonstrated excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to independently lead projects and/or initiatives
-Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
-Evidence-based collaborative problem solving of complex multifaceted issues within the context of provincial policies and procedures
-Critical thinking and analytical problem solving
-Expertise in leading complex change
-Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs
-Demonstrated advanced communications skills/positive energetic public persona
-Cultural competence
-Collaboration, negotiation and persuasion skills are paramount as this role requires the engagement of physicians and other internal/external stakeholders
-Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
-Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
-Permanent, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives
$52.08 - $65.10 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
