As the Director, Strategic Finance, you will be providing critical support and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer to ensure seamless operations, effective communication and efficient time management. You will enhance decision making by providing relevant insights, identifying areas for improvement across finance. This valuable position contributes to the overall success of the organization’s financial and strategic goals and will be a role that will grow in depth over time. The decisions made jointly with the CFO will impact long term strategies. This role is critical as the right hand to the CFO to assist in the execution and evolution of finance while working with broader stakeholders to maintain financial strength and drive “Value for Money” outcomes to ensure quality insight is provided to the Board to support.
 
Key Responsibilities:
-Co-ordinate with the CFO to prepare key reports/presentations to the Executive team, Board members and stakeholders   
-Assist the CFO on defining and implementing the long- term finance strategy as well as identifying short term improvements leveraging best practices and working with the CFO and the team to implement
-Acting as a trusted gatekeeper to triage/prioritize finance responsibilities and requirements of the CFO
-Conducting market research, benchmarking and compiling data to help the CFO in decision making and problem solving
-Overseeing special projects, initiatives or assignments that are delegated to the CFO or new requests needed from business evolution and works closely with other business units to achieve organizational goals.
-Required to identify problems and think of solutions to resolve them. This may include making big changes to existing processes, systems or products, improving and adapting existing methods and techniques, based on personal experiences and feedback.
-Influencing changes with partners and stakeholders across Medavie level to drive better outcomes and permit progression on how we operate
-Represent the business unit/organization to negotiate with others (internal/external parties) on proposals and programs. Compromises on the final outcome may be required, autonomy to make decisions related to outcome
 
Qualifications: 
Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Finance. 5-10 years’ experience within Finance preferably with experience in FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis)
Experience:
-Leadership experience
-CPA or equivalent 
-Strong communication skills
-Effective problem solving skills
-Ability to negotiate and influence
-Strong analytic skills 
-Ability to craft a presentation or report for Executives.
