Dock Worker/Forklift Operator

We Are Growing! Opportunity exists for Full Time Dock Worker.

A key member of Moncton terminal, the Dock Worker will safely and efficiently load and unload freight. Reporting directly to the Dock Supervisor, the Dock Worker will be instrumental in providing hands on support to ensure product is handled with care to meet our Customer requirements. This is a full-time position and includes weekend work. A typical start shift is from 5:30 am until finish.

Core duties:

• Follow company procedures/policies for properly and safely loading and unloading freight
• Safely operate a forklift to load and unload freight
• Count freight
• Ensure proper weight distribution and load configuration of trailers when loading
• Review freight documents for accuracy
• Inspect condition of freight
• Participate in training programs
• Perform duties in a manner that promotes superior customer service and professionalism
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Relevant post-secondary education or a combination of related education and experience is required
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and maintain balance for extensive periods of time
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder and horizontally
• Minimum of 2 years forklift experience
• Ability to work in varied climates (refrigerated trailers)
• Effective communication in English, both oral or written
