What is the Opportunity?

Documentation & Project Management Specialist (Commercial Deposits and Cash Management)

We are seeking a highly skilled Documentation & Project Management Specialist to provide business and administrative assistance to RBC’s U.S. Commercial Deposits and Cash Management Business. This role will work in close partnership with functional partners, managing work streams to relating to the establishment and growth of a new Commercial Deposits and Cash Management business line.  RBC Law Group will be a key partner in managing legal adjacent work streams. This role presents a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, startup-like environment within a large, established financial institution, supporting key Business initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Managing and prioritizing legal, and other work streams and ongoing projects related to the development of the new U.S. business line.
  • Act as a liaison between Law Group, Front Office, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crimes Compliance, and other Functional Partners, helping align efforts toward common goals.
  • Effectively interact with internal and external parties, ensuring proper escalation and relationship management to Law Group, Front Office and Functional Partners. 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes relating to the provision of legal advice by Law Group to the Front Office.
  • Daily review and tracking of pending issues and workstreams to expedite resolution.
  • Identifying areas for improvement, suggesting solutions, and implementing those solutions to streamline and improve documentation, process improvements, service enhancements, or technology upgrades to help mitigate risks (legal, operational, reputational, etc.).
  • Interface with senior executives, ensuring efficient workload management and follow-up on commitments.
  • Participate in meetings as necessary, taking notes and tracking significant items and tasks.
  • Manage projects and documentation related the business line, tracking product development, and evolving business initiatives.
  • Review, analyze, and update marketing materials, client-facing documentation, and legal agreements related to commercial deposit accounts and Cash Management services, in each case as directed by the Law Group and with escalation to other Functional Partners as required.
  • Assist with contract negotiation requests, including the development of a negotiation response repository, under the direction of the Law Group.
  • Assist in redlining and amending documentation for new products and services.
  • Demonstrate solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Supporting responses to customer RFPs pursued by the Front Office sales teams.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum 2+ years working in a bank, with a strong preference for direct experience within the Commercial Deposits and Cash Management Services space, or corporate banking operations, with a knowledge of deposit account and service maintenance and KYC/AML compliance.
  • Preferred 5+ years’ experience working directly with risk, compliance, attorneys, Project Management/coordination, and legal documentation review/approval, as well as experience with contract negotiations.
  • Strong preference for knowledge and experience with business governance and entity resolutions.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 - $150,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.  This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
