Job Description: Reporting to the Provincial Leader or Site Manager of Medical Physics, the Dosimetrist is responsible for the preparation of accurate computer treatment plans for patients receiving radiation therapy and for calculating radiation doses.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Radiation Therapy
Certification for Basic Life Saver (BLS)-C
Licensed with Saskatchewan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (SAMRT)
Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
Experience
Three (3) years previous experience as a qualified Radiation Therapist or in a related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Accuracy of fine motor movement is required to perform detailed outlining of anatomical structures using the computer mouse
Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications
Considerable Judgment and problem solving ability is required to identify, analyze and define problems and select the most appropriate solution to rectify them.
Human relations skills required to ensure compliance and promote acceptance through negotiating with staff and suppliers where there is a requirement to resolve the conflict or situation.
Other Information
Certification in Medical Dosimetry is an asset

Hours of Work: Shift Information: Days
108.78 hours per 3 week rotation: 14 shifts of 7.77 hours
