Drill Mechanic

*Mining site in Chapleau, Ontario, First underground mine in Canada to replace diesel mobile equipment, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs).
*7/7 and 14/14 rotations

RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent is responsible of all mechanized bolting and drilling equipment. He/she performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to determine the nature and extent of repairs, methods, materials, tools, etc. He/she exercises judgment in the selection of materials and tools, and methods to ensure that work is performed to high safety standards. He/she also ensures that downtime due to mechanical problems in the production process is minimized.

• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Perform Daily Inspections and services on the Bolting and Drilling equipment including greasing the drills, making sure there is drill lubrication and is the machine is working as intended.
• Perform weekly equipment inspections and minor repairs on all our Bolting and Drilling equipment (Jumbos, Split feed and solo drills).
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on bolters and drilling equipment.
• Assist Beat mechanics when requested.
