Employment Opportunity

Raise Bore - Driller Assistant


Master Drilling is looking for “Raise Bore - Driller Assistantfor our Project located at the Vale Thompson Mine Site.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Able to assist the driller by:

  • Loading, unloading and securement of drill rods
  • Setting up the drill and equipment on site
  • Handling sampling equipment and providing samples to client
  • Handling augers and other drill tooling
  • Assisting with equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Cleaning equipment and keeping work area clean and free of debris
  • Following companies HSE policies and procedures
  • Ability to adapt in a high pressure and high production environment while managing competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, solve problems, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • The roles and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
  • Work safely in an underground mining environment on a roster arrangement which included night shift
  • Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his/her duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Connect various components on the raise drill as required.
  • Read and interpret engineering plans to assist in the setup of the raise drill and assemble components.
  • Perform and/or assist in minor repairs as required.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a clean work site, storage of materials and spare parts.
  • Must be able to follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage.
  • Prepares and completes all necessary paperwork required in compliance with client, industry and company standards and policies.

Qualifications:

Mandatory Training required:

  • Vaild WHMIS 2015 Certificate
  • Vaild Fall Protection Certificate
  • Vaild Confined Space Certificate
  • Valid Telehandler Operator Certificate
  • Valid Rigging Training Certificate

Drilling Experience is an Asset, Not Mandatory

Underground Common Core Modules is an Asset, Not Mandatory

First Aid Certificate is an Asset, but not mandatory


Other Site Requirements & General Working Conditions:

  • Criminal Records Check Mandatory prior to Hiring
  • Pre-employment medicals and drug screening is Mandatory prior to site access.
  • Must be willing to learn and participate in on job training
  • Ability to work night and day shift is a requirement.
  • Must be able to work in high traffic areas in close proximity.
  • Must be able to work on a 14/14 rotation basis (subject to change).
  • Camp accommodations provided.
  • Must be a team player and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

This full-time position is based at the Vale Thompson Mine in Manitoba and successful applicants will be required to work a two-week on, two-week off rotation schedule.
