Strata Drilling Group is a recognized leader in the Geotechnical and Environmental Drilling Industry, operating Business Family offices in Ottawa, Stirling, Port Hope and Stouffville.
We are currently recruiting outstanding individuals for our Operator's Assistant Position in our Stouffville and Carleton Place offices.
The individuals will initially undergo a six month in house and onsite training program with operators of Geoprobe Direct Push, Pionjar, Hand Held and other mechanical devices.
Candidates, who respect safety proto calls, enjoy the core values of business family, are physically fit, enjoy working outdoors and have an attitude to learn and grow their skills in the Geotechnical & Environmental Drilling Industry will be selected and invited into this program.
A clean drivers abstract is a must and an AZ/DZ an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanentuties```
- Operate drilling equipment to extract core samples from the earth's surface
- Set up and prepare drilling sites, including assembling and disassembling drilling equipment
- Monitor drilling operations to ensure safety and efficiency
- Collect and analyze geological data and samples
- Maintain drilling equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks
- Follow safety protocols and regulations at all times
Experience
- Previous experience as a driller or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with geology and geological surveying methods is a plus
Please note that this position requires the following skills:
- Ability to build and assemble drilling equipment accurately and efficiently
- Proficiency in operating a forklift or other heavy machinery for transporting equipment
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on drilling equipment
