Drug and Alcohol Counsellor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. As a Counselor, you will provide support and guidance to individuals, experiencing chemical dependency issues. Your role will involve conducting research, collecting data, and assisting with case management to ensure the well-being of those in need in the Nicola Valley . Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and collect data related to client care
- Assist with case management and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care & treatment
- Utilize medical terminology and specialized knowledge in counseling sessions
- Support patients and their families in understanding treatment options
- Advocate for clients' needs and coordinate with other healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records

Experience:
- Previous experience working with vulnerable population
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Familiarity with case management processes
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Counseling or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Certification or licensure as a Counselor
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
