Job description

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough Due Diligence investigations in line with Tacenda Capital's investment thesis.

  • Analyze financial, legal, and technological aspects of investment opportunities to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and present comprehensive reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in financial technology.
  • Work directly with startup founders to understand their business models and expansion plans, particularly in small-town settings across Canada.
  • Assess the feasibility and risks of startups' expansion plans and provide strategic insights.

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Technology, Law, or a related field. Master’s degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Due Diligence, risk assessment, or a related field, preferably in a tech-focused financial environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

As an Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through conducting audits and analyzing financial data. You will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting principles, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. Additionally, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are important for effective collaboration. Knowledge of internal audit procedures and standards is also beneficial.
