Job Summary
Under the direction of the Cargo Manager, the Duty Manager is responsible to manage Ramp & Cargo activities effectively and profitably by providing a safe and quality product, covering a range of ground Handling services.
Job locations: YMX available to support YUL cargo.
Job Responsibilities
- Accountable for daily Ramp and Cargo operations, efficiently managing staff to reduce dependence on overtime.
- Maintain and improve customer and company safety and quality standards.
- Maintain good relations with customers and airport authorities.
- Manage and control all staff assignments.
- Hold daily briefings with all levels of management.
- Coach and train all employees to effectively improve operations.
- Ensure workforce adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Participate to the disciplinary and grievance process with labor relations.
- Ensure that incidents/accidents reports are completed in an adequate and timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
- 3 years of relevant experience in the Ground Handling industry, ramp and/or warehouse management.
- Relevant experience in personnel management.
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal)
- Languages: French/English (bilingual), oral and written.
- Valid Driver’s License (mandatory) and airside permit D/A (an asset)
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Leadership ability.
- Customer focus and quality awareness.
- Ability to deal with conflict.
- Available and flexible to work various shifts (day, evening, night, weekend, and holidays) by operational requirements.
- Available and flexible to occasionally work at the YMX (Mirabel airport) location by operational needs
