Position: E-Health Program Coordinator

FTE: Full-Time Permanent

Department: Health PEI, CIS Team

Location: Charlottetown, Burns Ave

Salary: $30.00- $37.54 Per Hour

Start Date/Term Length: Commencing Immediatley

About The Job

This position supports the operation and delivery of various provincial eHealth initiatives including but not limited to virtual care, patient portals, remote patient monitoring, digital health literacy, clinician and public technical support and electronic health record (EHR) integration.

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Working in tandem with the eHealth Project Lead, contribute to project plans, project effort estimations and timelines
  • Liaise with and take direction from eHealth leadership on project priorities and roadmaps
  • Create and maintain project deliverables such as requirements documents, training materials and test plans
  • Encourage the use of best practices as they apply to digital healthcare projects
  • Coordinate with vendors, program staff and ITSS personnel to implement software and hardware for eHealth projects
  • Ensure eHealth projects incorporate a provincial perspective and that requirements are gathered from a wide range of stakeholders
  • Coordinate and/or participate in internal project meetings to ensure issues are documented and solutions are explored and executed
  • Assist with data collection, reporting and project evaluation as required
  • Facilitate on-boarding of staff as needed
  • Use change management techniques to ensure technologies are fully understood, communicated and incorporated into program workflows
  • Assist with Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) as needed for ever-evolving eHealth platforms
  • Develop plans with timelines for upgrades as require
  • Under the direction of eHealth managers and directors, research evolving eHealth technologies and assist in the provision of information to secure funding for new platforms/equipment as needed
  • Provide operational expertise in the development, monitoring and continuous improvement of HPEI eHealth services
  • Assist with tasks relating to policy development and maintenance pertaining to eHealth systems
  • Maintain an understanding of HPEI’s organizational structure and associated departments
  • Assist with the execution and maintenance of HPEI’s eHealth auditing program
  • Coordinate the development of appropriate use guidelines for various eHealth technologies
  • Chair or sit on various committees representing eHealth initiatives
  • Contribute to vendor contract management as required
  • Acts as a provincial resource for eHealth services at HPEI
  • Act as a liaison for eHealth initiatives between the various HPEI departments and ITSS IT Consultants
  • Update the Staff Resource Centre and public website information on a regular basis
  • Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business, Information Technology Systems or a related field
  • Masters would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with virtual care, digital healthcare mediums or eHealth projects
  • Broad knowledge of IT and its application to address business needs;
  • Knowledge of best practices (and trends) of electronic health records, digital healthcare and delivery of these services to the public;
  • Knowledge of project management; design and development; monitoring and reporting;
  • Knowledge of government system and health system
  • Strong program management skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation and collaboration skills;
  • Must have good learning skills, be capable of independent work, have initiative and good self-regulation
